About This Test

This test draws on communication style models used widely in workplace psychology, sorting people into broad patterns: direct, diplomatic, analytical, and expressive, based on how they naturally deliver information rather than what they say.

Mismatched communication styles are behind an enormous share of everyday friction. A direct communicator reads as blunt to a diplomatic one, an analytical communicator reads as cold to an expressive one, when neither is actually doing anything wrong.

Knowing your own style, and learning to recognize others, makes it far easier to deliver a message so it is actually heard the way you meant it, rather than filtered through a mismatch neither of you noticed.
